Bagno Roma Viareggio - Your beach resort since the '30s

Relaxation but also fun: that’s what Bagno Roma, one of the oldest beach resort on Viareggio’ Promenade, offers to its guests.
A century-old history: the Cafè, established in the 80s, is the perfect place to enjoy cold and hot dishes ( try our famous “Focaccine”) while our gorgeous semi-Olympic swimming pool with real sea water was built in the 90s.

Until the early 2000s, Giuliana and her husband Florio, nicknamed “the Gentleman lifeguard”, used to welcome the customers, and nowadays their daughter Simona and their grandson Riccardo, heirs of the family tradition, are doing the same, in order to make your experience unique, keeping high the reputation of Viareggio, once called the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

THE BEACH RESORT

Located along the famous and beautiful promenade of Viareggio, Bagno Roma was established in the early 30s. The real core of the family-owned Business was Florio, lifeguard and leading figure for over 60 years. To him we owe, among the many achievements of his career, the opening of the Cafè and the semi-Olympic swimming pool with real sea water.

HISTORY

Bagno Roma was founded in the early 30s, between the two world wars. A prominent figure from 1944 to 2003 (the official retirement year) is the gentleman lifeguard Florio Venturini, who began his lifeguard job at the age of 12 until he turned 71. He was the lifeguard of Bagno Roma for almost 60 years, excluding a two-year gap in which he joined the Navy travelling around the world on board the gorgeous vessel Amerigo Vespucci.

THE POOL

The semi-Olympic swimming pool with sea water (25X12.5 mt), was strongly desired by Florio in 1994.

Bagno Roma was one of the first in Viareggio to make this investment, and over the years it became the key point of our beach.

THE CAFÈ

The Bar of our beach club offers delicious sweet and savory breakfasts, lunches, snacks and aperitifs at sunset.
Parties, tastings, theme nights are also organized.
We use almost exclusively local products, trying to offer only the best quality to our costumers.
